People are entitled to having their opinions and beliefs. As such, if a prominent speaker were to provide a speech on a topic that I did not support, which got him the applause th a t begun to turn into a standing ovation, I would be somewh at angered. My reaction to his would be to first ask the people I around me if they agreed with his opinion, and then I would let the applause subside and begin asking questions to refute his claims. Social psychologists look into how different situations elicit unique behavior in people. Under the lens of a social psychologist, the behavior would be seen as a reaction to the situation where my anger resulted from finding out that many people were not in agreement with my ideas (Kassin, Fein, & Markus, 2011). They would also explain that by questioning those around me on whether they agree with the speaker's assertions, I tried to influence them to side with me.

Sociology explains that human behavior is shaped by the different groups that one belongs to and the social interactions within these groups. Under the lens of a sociologist, the behavior would be defined as representing the society that I come from (Berger, n.d). They would explain that I portray the behavior of a particular group that I once belonged/ belong to at one specific point in time in my life. A personality psychologist is concerned with how individuals think, feel, and behave. They are also concerned with individuals' cross-situational consistencies (Kassin, Fein, & Markus, 2011). Under a personality psychologist lens, the behavior would be defined as a result of my expectations. The personality psychologists will explain that since I held an opposing viewpoint, I would have expected that he would not have gotten such applause, thus the behavior.
