Discuss how you could apply the concepts learned in this course to your current or future career.
The concepts in this chapter have enabled me to understand that strategic management is a technique that would be applied by business leaders to articulate on a company's mission, come up with strategic objectives as well as formulate quantifiable goals. I understand that management of people has a direct relationship with achieving human motivation and behavior. I would apply the concepts to motivate people into improving job performance, and personal progress in future would utilize the concepts to understand human motivation and shape employee behavior for the improvement of business.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Name at least one strategic management model discussed during this term that you would use, and explain why you selected this model
My favorite strategic management model is the SWOT analysis. Ideally SWOT is an acronym for Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. I choose this model because it has extensively been reviewed and employed in providing objective, relevant information during analysis and subsequently helped achieve positive and applicable results for various businesses. It is useful in business because it provides managers with an opportunity to look and at their positive points – strengths and negative points – weaknesses, and utilized to formulate objectives for the better.
How might you incorporate information from this model to positively impact your career success?
I would utilize the information about the SWOT strategy to evaluate my position in my career. For instance, I might use it to examine the weaknesses I have and plan on taking extra measures to improve it such as pursuing additional courses and training to improve my skills and knowledge. I would use the model to determine threats in the market in my line of career; such threats might occur as shifting market requirements, evolving technology, and competition from equally qualified personnel. The action that I would take to advance my career might include researching possible career direction, identifying the skills and experiences I need to upgrade or exploiting newer opportunities.
