DQ 1

Technology transfer refers to the process of moving knowledge from an individual or organization that holds or owns it to another person or entity. According to the article “ Managing Technology Transfer: An Analysis of Intrinsic Factors," among the factors that an entity needs to address before the transfer include the technology itself. The organization must establish that the technology is easy to transfer and that it is user friendly to ensure that workers can efficiently use it to perform their tasks. Another factor is the culture of the organization. The technology should always be congruent with the culture to ensure that it facilitates the ability of the staff to meet their personal and organizational goals. It is also essential to consider the environment and society at large. Usually, organizations are responsible for ensuring that their operations do not interfere with the normal situation and other people in the community where the entity is located. In this case, it is essential to ensure that the technology being transferred does not have adverse effects on the environment and people around it, like air or noise pollution.

DQ 2

The author asserts that in the dynamic approach, organizations are considered to be open, systems where they interact with the internal and external elements. However, the level of dynamism is what determines the organization's chance of disruption and degradation. Organizations tend to evolve through the negentropic process and self-organization. The management determines the need for technology in the organization, based on the disruption and degradation of operations. High dynamism may lead to rendering the current technology in the organization useless. In this case, the urge for the entity to remain competitive and up to date may push it to find more information from the external environment, for instance, outsourcing the technology transfer personnel. Nevertheless, there are always instances when entities protect the unique systems of the company from internal disruptions with the aim of maintaining competitiveness in the organization. These are processes that give the organization a competitive advantage over the rivals.
