The HR Proposal
Whole Foods already has a unique business model (selling foods that have no additives or preservatives. With the current concern of weight issues and cancer, Whole Foods has a potential to compete favorably in the global market scene. The company needs to compensate and treat all employees fairly regardless of their cultural, racial or ethnic backgrounds to boost its public image. Similarly, all customers need good treatment that is devoid of any bias.
Implementation
Employees need to be motivated to perform optimally. Secondly, the employees need to be trained continuously on emerging technology as well as how to operate in a diverse environment. The workplace needs to foster integration among the diverse workforce. If diversity is embraced and fostered, the return on investment will be high. Besides, it will mean that the management of the supermarket chain recruits more people from diverse backgrounds and improves the working conditions for everyone.
Conclusion
The global business environment is now very competitive. Although embracing technology is important, it is also emerging that companies, which have a diverse workforce have a good public image. The question of race is very sensitive and it will not be a good move for a company to expand to different countries without involving the locals. Therefore, Whole Foods needs to embrace more diversity in readiness for the global market.
