All countries around the world have national myths or identities which bear some resemblance to reality. The views of nations identity are likely to change or can be disrupted. In Australia, the bush is a cultural term that is understood as a sparsely populated environment. The Bush has an iconic status in the features of the national identity. The Bush was a unique feature that was different to the European landscapes that were well known to many new foreigners. The Bush was adored as a source of public beliefs by any semblance of Banjo Paterson and Henry Lawson. 

The 1880s saw a proceeded with increment in patriotism and after that the ascent of the Australian bush legend which was after the gold rush legend. These two legends had the same characters and qualities. Later on, the bush became the foundation of Australia’s greatness. This was in terms of relating to how the bush people had to sleep in the open, how they fought bushfires and learnt how to ride and shoot. These qualities, therefore, prepared the Australian people for wars. It thus fused the military to the bush traditions as they could relate to what happened and how challenges were handled. According to the Australian Identity, the bush myth in the twentieth century has lived on as the poets and artists continue to use it for inspiration absorbing the bush culture in the Australian life ( Convictcreations.com. 2016).

In the 1990s, the bush got to be synonymous with dry season, termination, unemployment and obligations. The normal fiascos and the regular cycles have helped the general population of Australia characterize an Australian dialect, a comical inclination and in addition drama. The bush legacy today covers traits like mateship, swearing and anti-authoritarianism. The bush ideals are found in television programs and films where most stories are built on the bush life. According to Cousins (2016), the songs that are sung today in Australia have a connection with people’s experiences, living and survival. Currently, the bush music has been passed down as folk music by famous bush ballads. In addition, the modern Australian architecture has addressed its approach of landscape and design from the bush. The Australian people believe that the land is what the Australians share in common thus it crafts a truly Australian people (Cousins 2016).

Australia has been portrayed as diverse, multicultural and extraordinary when contrasted with other nations across the world. The Australian culture has advanced from the 18th century to a state that attracts immigrants from all continents globally (Martin 2015). The Australians history has reflected clash, monetary development and hardships connected with building up a refined society in a brutal and primitive scene. Australian has along these lines attempted to take hold of a personality that makes them one of a kind and ready to bond with others. This has linked Australia to a better life. During the bushranger times, the society lived a life of crime making the Europeans flee from the evils of war. 

Another aspect of identity in Australia is that of a mate-ship. This shows that the Australians help each other at all times and also provide a shoulder to lean on for one another in times of tough moments and have a spirit of generosity despite the potential dangers. The multicultural society has shifted from what it was in the past and most cultures and religions continue to support each other. The ability to accept new and different things is what makes Australia have a true Australian aspect.

In conclusion, the Australian bush is a crucial feature, and this has been noted through the various links associated with the Australian national identity. The bush has been reflected in narratives, and it influences a person’s identity. This reflects how important the bush is to the Australian people. The bush has likewise been one of its kinds, inten-e and characterizing power in the formation of Australian personality in this way giving an advantageous instrument to development and change of people.
