For a long time, women have experienced segregation and discrimination in vast areas in the society one of them being the sports area. The male dominated field has seen women as physically incapable to participate as successful sportspersons making sure that the women remain non participant or unrecognised in the sports industry (Green, 2012). It is imperative to include women in all these sectors an activities in a plight to empower them as a discriminated gender in the society. Building of women sport centres such as women’s Ice hockey is an incredible and commendable move if it aims at promoting women in the field of sport. However, the elimination of a major league that belongs to the men and implement a women’s league does not confine to the ethical principles of the moves. It is a creation of a similar problem by eliminating the initial causative agents and bringing in new ones (Green, 2012).

Indeed, it is not sexist to try and adjust the levels to which women are given credit for in any sector and more so the sports area. But it is sexist to prefer women over the men through the manifestation of an intentional kill of the men sports department paving way for a women’s department.
