In America, women represent approximately half of the whole population. According to the American College of Physicians (ACP), women are more vulnerable to health challenges as compared to the men. Some of the problems faced include underrepresentation in research, lack of access to care, unfavorable government policies, and discriminatory gender regulations in the health system. To be able to solve these problems, ACP offers some recommendations that range from opposing unsympathetic rules to setting global goals that focus on improving women's health. Despite the females having a longer lifespan than men in majority countries, they tend to face greater health disparities than other members of the population.
When weighing on the recommendations offered by ACP, there is hope for change. These policies focus on the considerations of gender and sex in healthcare. Research shows that women face unique challenges in addition to their roles as home keepers (Daniel, Erickson & Bornstein, 2018). ACP, therefore, believes that the government should ensure the availability of well-trained medical officers who care for women. These policies are also useful in that they emphasize on the increased need for patient education. Women need to be educated about their rights as well as the community at large. ACP offers solutions that can be implemented at the federal, state or local level based on the women needs presented in each stage.

In addition to these directions, other changes need to be implemented. An example is prioritizing these needs based on their level of urgency. In all advancement aspects, public education is the first step towards change. When women are aware of their rights, they can comfortably seek medical assistance (Daniel et al., 2018). Campaigns should be conducted to encourage changes in perceptions that people have towards women. The government should also consider funding the researchers who base their studies on gender-related matters. More organizations should be formed the help voice women needs from all regions.
