Before conducting an organizational needs survey, the first step would be to set a date for the interview, the time and location for conducting the interview. I would develop questions that center on job skill and competence, employee qualifications, and the breadth of training offered at the organization. I would be sure to get consent from the manager of the organization. Right before the interview, I would make a few introductory remarks about myself, why I am doing the survey, and assure the data will remain confidential. The following are questions on the organizational development need survey:
What is your job title?
How many hours do you work in a week?
What are your greatest strengths?
How does your skills and abilities in sync with the job requirements?
Do you work in a team [if yes], what is the team responsible for?
What qualifications do you have that make you successful in this position?
Have you been offered a chance to gain a qualification in your current job?
What makes you more qualified than the other candidates gunning for your position?
How will training move you closer to organizational goals?
How does the organization measure its overall performance?
How satisfied are you with the quality of employee’s work performance
When did you last receive training at this organization?
Which areas in the workplace would you like to see additional training programs?
Do team leaders take or suggest conferences and workshops for the members?
