The need for this quantitative study is to find out how the lessons learned from the literature books and their exploration of the various aspects of life impact the field of education. The research focuses on three literature books that target the multiple spheres of life. The three literature books have various objectives for the readers. The primary aim of the literature books in the research is to expand the knowledge of the readers in literature. The books also aim to contribute to the readers understanding of the various issues that human beings face in their daily lives and how to cope with them. For instance, in the book, "Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption" by Laura Hillenbrand, Louis Zamperini has to overcome the various adversities that happen in his life after surviving a plane crash (Hillenbrand, 2014). The variables involved in the study are the existence of the three books and the understanding of their content by the readers. The independent variable is the presence of the literature books. The dependent variable is the rate of understanding of the content and lessons drawn from the books by the readers. The main themes identified in the study are human suffering and heroism. Human suffering is portrayed in both "Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption" by Laura Hillenbrand , according to Hillenbrand (2014), and "Behind the Beautiful Forevers" by Katherine Boo where the slum dwellers close to Mumbai airport face various dangers to their survival (Boo, 2012). Rebecca Skloot highlights the theme of heroism in "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" where Henrietta Lacks' immortal cell provides a breakthrough in medical research (Skloot, 2010).
