Weekly Reflective Employment Summaries:
I established the correlation between the data collected and information stored in a database belonging to Fujitsu, and that of a third-party vendor. It involved fetching data from the company's top-level clients who did not want to place their details on the company's employee hub manually. The classroom knowledge I employed included the techniques of data modeling for identification and categorizing of the sources of organizational information. I applied data modeling techniques, precisely, the data mapping specification to show how information stored in different databases are related. Nevertheless, the challenges encountered included having the information stored in the database being bulky, making their retrieval problematic. Moreover, accessing data from other third-party vendors was tiresome since connection and data importation was difficult. To solve this, I engaged in the extraction of small bits of information at a time. Furthermore, I worked with the vendor directly to aid in accessing their data.
Also, I performed regression analysis to forecast Fujitsu’s future trends to be used by management for decision making. Additionally, I was introduced to the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to analyze its market trends. The classroom knowledge I employed was to understand and apply techniques used in data analysis. As such, I applied the design and implementation of realistic predictive solutions using data; hence, I eliminated data quality uncertainty. However, there were challenges like the reliability of the collected data not being ascertained to provide accurate predictions. Additionally, the complexity of the ERP system made it difficult for me to master how it operates at Fujitsu. To solve this, I applied bootstrapping to enrich the data and eliminate uncertainties. Therefore, I made repeated random sample observations to provide better estimates. Moreover, I made consultations from my supervisor to guide me in the application of the ERP system.
