According to the prophets, the kingdom of God is one of sovereign control and kingly rule for all nations based on judgment and hope. In the book of the prophets of Israel, a common theme of judgment and hope is expressed. God shows His anger toward the disobedience of His people and at the same time shows He is a merciful God and hence giving believers hope. According to Isaiah, a servant will come to redeem the Israelites through His death. The new servant of God will take judgment and face judgment in place of the Israelites so that people can receive grace and forgiveness. The new king will not be limited to the people of Israel but will save all the nations from the corners of the world. The prophets take prophecies to a personal level when they give insights from their hearts and unique experiences. The Psalmist explains his personal experiences and opens his distressed heart due to the depressive moments experienced. The new God's kingdom will include all nations, and the people will be justified through faith and not the law. God saved the believers through His grace and not the people's righteous deeds, for men's hearts are filled with evil.
Prophets Views on God’s New Plan
Isaiah prophesies about God's people. The prophet Isaiah states that although God will bring justice for the people's disobedience, a significant number will see salvation through Jesus Christ. The Psalmist goes ahead and reminds us that the kingdom established by Jesus Christ will last forever. According to Ezekiel, God’s place is set to rebuild an entirely new world from man's fall during creation. God promises to build unique creations, including new heaven and earth, and forget all the former beings. John explicitly expresses the new creation in Revelation 7. He prophesies about the great multitude of nations, races, tribes, and people from different ethnic groups standing before God in white garments. Lastly, Jeremiah talks about God's new rule and blessings. God will create a new law and blessings and make it more personal by getting in touch with people’s hearts and souls. God promises to engrave his rule in our minds and hearts; therefore, that’s the reason God urges us to worship Him in truth. The Psalmist cried out and said that he understands that God's work is marvelous and his soul knows that well.
