Introduction

My farming family has greatly influenced the way I treat animals. Although I treat them differently from humans, I treat them humanely. Treating animals humanely requires that one handles them with great benevolence and compassion. For example, I sometimes let my cat sleep on my bed whenever she wants. I remind myself that she requires some comfort too. Treating animals humanely should not involve actions relating to human characteristics. The difference between the humane treatment of animals, and treating animals as humans, should be well considered when it comes to animal welfare. Since animals have feelings and emotions too, all human beings should refrain from mistreating animals and infringing their rights. It is necessary that animals are treated humanely because it tallies with their rights, benefits both human and animals and has benefits on animals’ health.

Violation of Animal rights

According to (Akhtar, 2012), the existence of animal right activists paints a picture of the extent to which the rights of both domestic and wild animals have been violated across the world. These activists advocate for the humane treatment of animals. The practice of animal care is not only tested scientifically but is also evolving. A lot of experiments have shown that treating animals humanely, carries with it some medical benefits to the animal. According to research, when the practice of animal care is negatively targeted by various stakeholders, the farmer also suffers as much as animal welfare is endangered.

Caring for Animal Rights

The responsibility of taking care of animals greatly lies depends on farmers more than any other profession ( Veterinary ethics and the humane treatment of animals  2011). Farmers are responsible for necessary daily actions like the providence of food and water. Providence of their basic needs, which also includes good health and hygiene, goes a long way in ensuring the humane treatment of animals. Most farmers employ the use of practices that are scientifically-backed, to avoid endangering their animal’s lives.

Many seminars and meetings are held every year, to discuss how the world can be a better place for animals. These meetings bring together animal care workers, investigators, politicians, and even researchers to combine their diverse perspectives and find better ways of caring for animals. This is a clear indication that there are many challenges as well as possibilities, to animal-human relations.

According to research, human actions significantly affect other species on the planet. These effects are hugely noted from the world’s economic decisions. Statistics indicate that more animals are killed annually than those that are kept for companionship. A wide range of animal violence has been recorded in the workplace. However, some groups humanely take care of animals. In sanctuaries, veterinary places, and other natural places, for example, animals are treated as they deserve. All human beings are tasked with the job of eliminating practices that are damaging to animal lives, and embrace humane ways in growing their economies.

Governments and private sectors should support incorporate the creation of jobs that are humane in all their plans. This action should extend to the healthcare sector, prevention of cruelties and their investigations, education, conservation, tourism, and other sectors. For instance, humans should reduce their animal consumption, to boost their numbers across the world. Humane treatment of animals requires that human beings adopt the use of nature positively, and establish vibrant animal healthcare. Animal care farms should be established to facilitate animal healing. Apart from being income sources, these care farms foster a good quality of lives for animals.

Conclusion

In conclusion, there are clear benefits realized from the development, implementation, and regulation of structures that facilitate the humane treatment of animals. Both the public and the private sectors can help to develop these structures and ensure that all animals are treated humanely. For instance, reducing fur-farming subsidies, burning the hunting of seals, and other positive activities, are just but sustainable ways that lead to the creation of humane jobs. Our commitments to animal care provide a clear picture of where we would want to be in the future, in terms of our relationships with animals.
