Costly grace has seen it in my own life experience whereby it is costly because it calls us to follow the Word. The Word is the grace because it calls us to follow Jesus Christ. Additionally, it is costly because it cost a man his life. Similarly, it is justified by grace because it gives a man the only true life. Moreover, it is costly because it condemns sin and grace because as it justifies the sinner. Nevertheless, it is costly because it cost God the life of his son Jesus Christ.

In this sense, it means that it is better to follow the costly discipleship. Since costly grace confronts us to follow Jesus, it comes as a word of forgiveness to the broken spirit. It is because it compels a man to submit to the yoke of Christ and follow Him. Jesus said, ‘my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. The teachings of Christ make it clear that discipleship is costly. The New Testament continues to expound the cost of discipleship, and it speaks of the requirement for salvation and post-salvation commitment to our Lord (Luke 9:23-26).
