Throughout the story the theme of conflict between good and evil is written all over, The Grandmother talks often about finding a good man, she even thinks tells the Misfit that he is a Goodman but kills her anyway. Bailey, on the other hand, is also not a very good man he’s unkind to the mother. There is an emphasis on goodness which is seen through grandmother’s eyes and a good man ought to be, kind and one who’s respectable.
