Despite the complexity and high stakes in improving the current education system in the country, policymakers should not tire in coming up with multistep and efficient processes to making radical changes in the education system. Berliner and Glass (2014) argue that i mproving the current education system should be guided by the need to conform the system to modern-day rising demands and challenges.

The primary aspects that need radical changes

Making school/education funding a top priority

Funding can be achieved by increasing teacher support ad funding

Looking at the prospects of education and its later impact on the economy ( Rose, 2014)

Employing an advanced and practical tax code. The primary issue is making funding a top priority since the problem of funding is not about lack of cash or the federal government failing to raise revenue for the same, but it is about preference ( Berliner & Glass, 2014) . Why should the government spend more money on housing convicts in correction centers than it spends on educating learners? Rose (2014) argues that investing in education should be seen as a strategic investment for improving the country’s Gross Domestic Product in the long run.

Building schools for all students

Schools should not measure their success by achievements only, but also on the impact of classroom priorities and curriculum development on a leaner’s overall success

Raising teachers standards

Unqualified teachers are the number cause of poor student performance

Policies and measures should be enacted that promote teacher ability and qualification ( Sallis, 2104)

Address and acknowledge overcrowding in schools

The problem mainly affects minority and low-income earners

Teachers should be proportionally spread

Plans should be put in place that reduces student dropout

Stress among teachers should be addressed (Rose, 2014). For example, policymakers need to draft master plans that prevent overcrowding, a maintenance procedure, and dedicated lawmakers put at the helm of the desired changes primarily to address shifting issues in school overcrowding.
