Introduction

Adventure of Huckleberry is a novel written by Mark Twain. Huckleberry “Huck” who is a friend of Tom Sawyer tells the story in the first person. The book is noted for its most colorful description of individuals and the places alongside Mississippi River. Moreover, it is set in a society that ceased to exist 20 years before it was published. Some characters in this novel can create a rich family while there are others who cannot create a stable family.

Most productive family

The most productive family in the adventure Huckleberry Finn is Huck Finn and Jim. Huck is a boy that comes from the lowest level of the white society. His father is drunk also a ruffian who disappear in end months. Huck is always dirty and infrequent times homeless. Window Douglas tried to reform Huck, but he resisted and maintained his old ways. Jim met Huck while he was running away from Miss Watson and they became the companion as they traveled down the river. Jim was a man of remarkable intelligence and compassion as he demonstrated in becoming the surrogate father to Huck and a friend too. He took care of Huck without being pushy and smothering. He was also cooking for the boy besides offering shelter too. Jim love for a family is demonstrated when the thought of permanent separation with his wife and children motivates him to ran away from Miss Watson. Jim is the only adult in the novel who provided a respectable and positive example to Huck to follow.

Least stable and Normal family

The least normal or stable family is the Granger fords. The family consisted of Bob, Tom the eldest son, Charlotte, Sophia and Buck the youngest son. It was the tense situation when Huck first encountered the Granger fords; they pointed the gun at him and later allowed him to enter the house slowly, as they barred the doors behind him. They wanted to establish if he was a Shepherdson and if he was armed too. Though this family may seem to be hospitable, they have always carried a feud with the shepherds. Sophia was in love with a shepherd boy, but they were forced to communicate in secret and later on they run away to get married. The feud between the two family-reached climaxes, the shepherd, attacked the Granger foods resulting in many deaths of both sides members. Huck was lucky to escape the fighting and reunites with Jim.

Conclusion

The most productive family is Huck and Jim; both had the close relationship, Jim being a surrogate father to Huck and friends too. Jim took care of Huck as him own son and set a good example for him to follow. On the other hand, the ranger ford can be described as the least stable or normal family since they carried a family feud with shepherds that later resulted in the death of many.
