The events that steered to the creation of US Department of transportation and the primary objectives of the Department of Transportation (DOT)  

President Johnson established that the American transportation system was inefficient because it lacked coordination . Therefore, he advocates for the development of a federal Department of Transportation. This program's primary objectives include to be a focal point for future research and transportation development. Another primary objective is to coordinate existing programs of the federal government. The department coordinates adequate transportation to facilitate improved programs of the federal government.

Description of the NTSB's genesis, the Board’s primary function, other functions, steps involved in a major accident investigation, safety recommendations, and a final report.  

The genesis of the NTSB started after an executive order on 1st April 1967. NTSB was created through the Department of Transportation Act of 1966 (Air Transportation: Regulators and Associations). In case of a major accident, the NTSB investigates the accident for 7 to 10 days using the go-team. The go-team is a board personnel group that use their broad range of accident investigation skills. The team also used the support of the NTSB laboratory to support the process. Then the board gives safety recommendations such as the DOT requiring collections and report of flown hours and movement data, develop education products to eliminate unsaf practices, and improving the conspicuity of holding positions for runways. . The congress requires the DOT to respond to each board recommendation within 90 days. A public hearing is another step of a major accident investigation. The final report is then presented to a full five-member board that discusses and approves it in a publish meeting situated in Washington (Air Transportation: Regulators and Associations). The investigation process, evaluation, discussion, approval, and presentation of the full report takes several months. 

5. The Primary Purpose of the NASAO  

The primary purpose of NASAO is the encourage and foster mutual aid and cooperation among local, state, and federal governments to develop state and national air transportation systems that are responsive to the aviation user's needs (Air Transportation: Regulators and Associations).
