Introduction
The high rate of alcohol consumption and interpersonal violence due to alcohol effect is a major challenge worldwide. They both have an adverse health effect. The social consequences of crime and alcohol have reached an alarming level. Families are breaking. Children are neglected and also the moral sanity is deteriorating, and furthermore many of the cases link interpersonal violence to alcohol. Economically an addicted alcohol person concentrates all the earnings on it. The economic productivity of an alcoholic is much lesser compared to that of a sober person.
Hypothesis
Alcohol Increases Interpersonal Violence.
Men are linked to heavy drinking and frequent drinking session compared to the women. When men heavily drink they forgot the family matters. The neglect of family acts as a source of marital conflicts. Men being the head of the family cannot lead any family when in control of alcohol. Alcohol lowers libido in both genders (Ferguson, & Rhodes, 2016). Women rarely can tolerate men who have can’t satisfy their conjugal rights. This makes women cheat on their marriages. Cheating is one of the primary proprietors of family conflicts.

Alcohol reduces the thinking ability. When one is provoked while under the influence of alcohol, he/she reacts without consideration of other factors. A quite insignificant issue make the person overreact. Factors like the consequence of one’s action are never in mind of a person under the influence of alcohol. This makes people who could forsake the issue under the usual circumstance to turn violent.
Discussion
Chemical interference in the brain by alcohol causes anxiety. The anxiety gives one false confidence. The person forsakes the danger in violence. This anxiety prevents a drunken person from reasoning the warning from others or the warning signs portrayed by the action he/she is indulging on. The sense of overconfidence makes the drunkard feel as he/she is then conqueror and there is nobody or anything that can or should rebel against his/her.
Victimization makes one drink excessively. Alcohol gives a sense of relaxation, and that’s why the majority enjoy it. Everybody wants a sense of recognition and appreciation. When majority lack that appreciation nature, they turn to alcohol for comfort. When a victimized person gains a false sense of confidence, he/she tend to show it to others. In the capacity of showing, he/she tends to victimize others. The victimization is not welcome as his fellow drunkard came in search of comfort. In the process, crisis arises.
Alcohol intoxication tends to bring out the tendency of anger outburst. Majority of the people who have been annoyed and tend to remain silent, do outpour their anger when drunk. Alcohol is said to offer courage. To those who lack the confidence to face those who have pained them, they prefer to take alcohol and then be able to confront the offenders (Boardman, & Flood, 2017). The confidence is worse as it never comes with proper communication or even listening to one another. The one being confronted feels highly offended as in many cases he/she is not given a chance to respond to the accusation
The expression of anger is intense and much heightened. Alcoholics repeats themselves provoking even non-alcoholics. The repetition keeps on intensifying mostly when the involved is also a drunkard. The mode of expression is that of raised tones. Use of vulgar and abusive language among drunkard is common. The foul language heightens the anger (Norström, & Pape, 2010). Instead of solving issues amicably the drunkards intensify issues increasing the rate of interpersonal violence.
Alcohol sense of confidence increases the rate of bullying among the youths. The physical strength of youths makes them feel highly energetic and indulge in activities that will make them feel winners. One method youths use to feel superior is intimidation. Youths bully other and eventually resort into grudges. The grudges are worse if the parties involved are drunk. Inform of revenge the youths cause conflict among themselves.
Alcohol is known to be the center of gang cultures. Most drunkards are in groups. When an issue arises, the group tends to support their “own”. In the process of defending each group is not ready to cool or listen. They form a revenge group. The group may turn violent and in the process result to injuries. Also, the gang member’s sometimes fight among themselves on intoxication.
Alcohol is expensive, and to maintain the high life of drinking. Many indulge in behaviors like cheating and stealing. When broke drunkards can’t find money to sustain their appetite for the liquor, they can do anything to get it. Stealing and coning others becomes a norm, as well as selling of personal and home properties. In the long run, the drunkards may turn violent to anyone cautioning their behavior. The law turns against them and finally may end up jailed.
Conclusion
Alcohol increases the interpersonal violence. The aggressiveness brought about by the alcohol is a greater trigger of violence. Also, the false courage associated with alcohol is a trigger of violence. Domestic violence is increased by alcohol. Behavioral change may be triggered by alcoholism. Addiction to alcohol may result in stealing
