Society of Counselling Psychology
It is ranked at number 17 among the American Psychological Association (APA) divisions. Society of Counselling Psychology brings together individuals who are interested in making the study of psychology a professional field. They include students pursuing the course, psychologists, occupational, and international affiliates. They all have the same goal; committed to encourage and promote education and training, scientific investigation, and exemplary practice in psychology. Apart from the whole outlook that deals with counseling in general, Division 17 has various sections that deal with different groups of people. For instance, the advancement of women, racial and ethnic diversity, independent practice, lesbian, gay and bisexual awareness, college, and university counseling centers, among other special groups. Its membership is open to postgraduate psychologists who engage in activities that have a special interest in supporting and promoting the growth of this field of psychology.
I chose this discipline because it goes hand in hand with behavior analysis. They are both related to one another in that for one to excel in psychology, understanding human characteristics is vital.

Behavior Analysis
Ranked at number 25, behavior analysis was founded in 1964. It seeks to encourage fundamental research of the behavioral patterns and characteristics among human beings and animals. The results of the study are incorporated with other disciplines in the divisions that are related to human behavior. It helps to give a clear perspective towards the same. Behavior analysis is an active division. Apart from experimenting and analyzing human behavior, it participates in APA annual convention and sponsors speakers for such events while promoting the positive practice in the society.
I chose this discipline because I would like to understand why and how human beings behave. It is an exciting topic in psychology because it provides an in-depth meaning to our general characteristics. Through it, I can be able to understand better and explain human psychology.
