42 respondents who were newly-diagnosed diabetic patients were randomly allocated between the control group and the video education group. Data from the groups was collected after 6 months. The population was spread about between 43% males and 57% female. Their mean age was 60.8 years and an average weight of 89.5kg, BMI of 31.3 kgm 2 , total cholesterol of 4.7 mmol L -1 , HDLC of 1.15 mmol L -1 , and pedometer readings of 5721 steps per day. Of the responses, 63.7% were correct from those given the AD Knowledge Questionnaire and 65.8% for those given the WHO-5 Well-Being Questionnaire. At 6 months, the intervention group showed higher levels of knowledge than the control group. There were no significant changes in the control group.
