Albrecht Durer's woodcut, Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, reminds of the lifelong love of Hollywood cowboy movie. The cut wood is having been drawn from the book of Revelation –the last in the New Testament. It tells us about the end of the world and the coming of God’s kingdom. The book has always been the sinister apocalyptic cowboys of world-ending destruction including the conquest, war, famine, and death itself. In the text of Revelation, Christ Delivering the Keys to St. Peter the four horses; white for conquest, red for war, black for famine and pale for death are the main distinguishing feature. The author's pale rider carries a sort of pitchfork or trident, despite the fact that he assigns no weapon in the Biblical account but simply unleashes hell. The duality of the woodcut is breathtaking as one is able to hear and feel the furor of the clattering hooves. As a result, Durer's unique genius as a woodcut artist was the ability to conceive such complex and finely detailed images.

Pietro Perugino's Christ Giving the Keys of Kingdom to St.Peter is an exemplary paint of the Italian Renaissance. It is part of the New Testament narrative cycle depicting events of Christ’s life on the North wall of the chapel. In the paint, Christ stands at the center dressed in purple and blue garments which reveals the heavenly kingdom of St Peter kneeling. Perugino spells out the pictorial device in his painter’s arsenal to construct an image reflective of the Renaissance ideals; the figures, balance, harmony and three –dimensional space. In the foreground on either side of Christ and St.Peter are the eleven Apostles. All are easily recognizable due to the classicizing tunics and postures. The painter harmoniously balanced groupings of historical figures provide visual interest to the viewer. Perugino utilizes two space perspectives a linear perspective which creates the dimensional space using a system of orthogonal that recede into space, and atmospheric perspective on objects in the distance causing them to diminish in appearance.

The issue pertaining to permanency was difficult to accomplish due to the reaction of the light-sensitive surface in need of the desired exposure. The development of photography was very fast since Niepce took a fast with the invention of the photographic process. This was prior to Daguerre and Talbot. The artist leads to photography being associated with a technological improvement in the terms of speed, resolution, and permanence. It seems that Niepce’s image portrays out of an upstairs window, and part of the blurry quality due to changing conditions during the long exposure time. This caused resolution and the clarity of the image to be grainy and hard to read. The technological improvement was made upon examining the Niepce's work by photographers.
