PAW Patrol is both an educational and entertaining TV series. It is a cartoon TV series that shows the power of friendship and hard work. PAW Patrol is a group of puppies and a boy who collaborate to protect Adventure Bay from issues such as crime and helping the society. The boy, Ryder, leads a pack of puppies known as PAW Patrol. The team works together on missions to protect the shore side Community of Adventure Bay. In the United States, the show airs on Nickelodeon and TVOKids. On Nickelodeon, PAW Patrol airs every day at a different time but mostly at two o’clock in the afternoon.

The show uses different techniques in teaching the children. For example, the show uses visual main colors, music, verbal and story to educate viewers. The characters and different scenes are shot on different environments showing the different colors. Children get to learn about colors, and how to interact with the environment. For example, the show demonstrates how kids are supposed to interact with their friends such as pets, environment such as friends and helping others in society. All the puppies are of different colors while Ryder, dressed in bright colors such as red in most cases. The show uses music in the introduction to entertain and educate children on how to say some words. The theme song of the show is repetitive ( Pogue, 2018) . The storyline of the show is similar in each show which is a way of teaching children through repetition.

The program is educational and entertaining at the same time. The program teaches lessons such as friendship, hard work, problem-solving and playing. PAW Patrol uses friendship between Ryder and the puppies to show the importance of friendship in the society. It also demonstrates that working together and working hard towards a goal there is nothing a team cannot achieve. It helps kids in looking at problems as a puzzle that require the mind and collaboration to solve. All these strategies used by the show are successful in teaching and entertaining the viewers.

The show fits well with Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory and Piaget theory. According to Vygotsky, learning is a social process. Through the process of interacting with others in society, the learning process becomes integrated into the individual understanding of the world ( Berk, 1994) . PAW Patrol show demonstrates how children can learn from the environment including friends and animal and the habitat in general such as a neighborhood.

In addition, the show also fits well with Skinner Behavioral theory . According to Skinner, all human behaviors can be described in terms of environmental influences. Skinner theory states that learning occurs purely via the processes of reinforcement and association. The theories focus on observable behaviors. According to Skinner, children development can be considered as a reaction toward stimuli such as rewards, punishments or reinforcement (Cherry, 2019). Similarly the show, PAW Patrol is an example of how children can learn from the environment. The show demonstrates how children interact with the environment. The program uses age-appropriate language in all the show. From the introductory theme song of every single episode, they use words such run, chase and hide, help and so forth also mentions words that show emotions such woow!

It is true the program contain social content such as friendship, TV interviews and societal aspects such as schooling. The show avoids negative impact on children and therefore, it avoids gender stereotyping, violence and race or ethnic references. The show uses non-violent approaches to resolving issues. The show avoids gender stereotypes as different responsibility are given to different characters in the series. Further, the show uses even animals to take roles that are human (animation). For example, the puppies play similar roles such as those of community police in helping cases. There are social relationship and moral issues are addressed in the show. For example, social relationships such as that of young boys such as Ryder and Cap'n Turbot marine biologists. The show addresses some moral issues such as crime in the neighborhood. However, the show does not encourage unethical and immoral issues in the show.

Nickelodeon Television station is a commercial organization and thus it allows commercials to play between the programs. During the breaks, they bring adverts that are children and parent-focused such as child-focused products such as toys, movies, computer games and so forth. I believe that the advertisers choose the program in which to advertise. Nickelodeon is a children-focused TV and advertisers already know the most watched TV shows by children and parent. It is during these most watched shows that most advertisers choose to advertise for the adverts to reach more people.

After watching the show for about 45 minutes which was a single and a half episodes. From the show, I gained knowledge on why the show has a large following among the parents and children who are below 10 years in the U.S. By watching the show expanded my knowledge on how to relate with the rest of the society and how I can help resolve issues (King, 2015)

Kids on the TV shows have become common in the modern day. For example, television station have increased the number of shows that target children. Nickelodeon TV is children station that airs kids’ friendly shows. PAW Patrol is one of the shows that is aired on the Nickelodeon. The show is both entertaining and educating. The show can be related to behavioral and social-cultural theories of learning and development in children. Skinned a behaviorist theorist says the people learn from stimuli from the environment.
