Part I: Reflection
Success and failure are entwined events and each person has a fair share of their won. Personally, I have experienced both success and failure, but failure is more draining if one is not careful with how to live with the physical and emotional exhaustion that come from it. The vital lesson I have learn about the two is that success, in most instances, comes after failure. However, to succeed, it is important to recognize and appreciate the reason for failure; and embrace the belief that we can rebound from the failure. In my life, what I can define as my biggest accomplishment is having reached my current level of education. Having come from a family that was not well off financially, I encountered numerous challenges in continuing my education, which my parents could not afford. Without financial assistance, I was doomed, but I was able to secure a scholarship through to college. I believe some important reasons why here currently are:
My persistence in applying for scholarships
My awareness of existing funding opportunities
Parents’ financial status
Active participation in extracurricular events
Networking with religious, social, and community groups
Determination at school despite the challenges
Luck
The event I consider my biggest defeat is the failure of my grocery business to take off. I had saved money I thought was enough to star off, but I later realized it was not enough to cater for all the operational expenses and acquire the required inventory. My dream was to ensure a constant flow of income to cater some of my personal expenses. The reasons behind my unsuccessful shot at business included:
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Insufficient knowledge of the grocery market dynamics
Inadequate equipment
Insufficient capital
Lack of financial knowhow and business acumen
Lack of time due to school commitments
Lack of support from parents
Competition from established businesses
The friend I asked the same questions revealed that they have also experience numerous difficulties, but pointed out that their biggest success was securing a job after college. The reasons they attribute this success include:
Working hard in school
Persistence in application for vacancies
Skills and experience interning in their field of specialization
Discipline and organization
Determination
Luck
They also identified inability to hold down a long-time relationship as their biggest defeat that has constantly undermined efforts to organize their life by distracting them when they least expect. The break-ups have always caused them emotional turmoil making them unable to focus. They reasons they gave are:
Impatience
Financial instability
Untrusting partners
Lack of a job
Temperance
