Mood disorders is an example of caffeine withdrawal symptoms I realized after I stopped taking coffee in the morning. I always prefer caffeine as a beverage for my morning breakfast, but the last two days have been challenging due to the lack of caffeine. I realized from the research that people who consume caffeine beverages have an increased number of adenosine receptors in their central nervous system (CNS). Mood disorders contribute to high cases of depression, sadness, and anxiety (Budney et al. 2013). I developed anxiety and melancholic state after I missed the caffeine beverage for two days. Consequences of drug abuse such as hand tremors, depression, panic attacks, and mood disorders reveal an ideal relationship between substance abuse and caffeine intake. Since the literature dwells on the effects and symptoms of caffeine intake, the implications of taking caffeine are similar to some of the impacts of drugs such as alcohol, cocaine abuse.

Jase who was also my subject undergoes mood disorders such as sadness and anxiety when he fails to make coffee for two days. The situation describes the effects of caffeine intake withdrawal. He says you cannot rake a man’s coffee (Whatthe DuckUK, 2013) to indicate addiction to caffeine. I believe that regular caffeine consumption should be considered substance abuse since the situation develops similar tolerance with other drugs perceived illegal such as cocaine, heroin, and cannabis sativa. Caffeine leads to depression, mood disorders, anxiety, hand tremor, and physical vulnerabilities with the continued regular intake, just like other illegal drugs. Also, its stoppage leads to crave, relic, and hallucination that also acts as the effects of substance abuse. Since the symptoms of caffeine withdrawals are similar to symptoms of other illegal drugs, caffeine fall other drugs that perceived as substance abuse when taken regularly. It also affects the central nervous system (CNS) as other illegal drugs that fall under substance abuse.
