Despite the tendency of students to align with specific groups based on social class, religion, ethnicity, or other distinguishable category, I strive my best to be multicultural in every aspect. Valuing and appreciating the diverse cultures from other students is an essential part of student life. As such, my ethnicity is never a major factor because I try as much as possible to understand other students. Furthermore, I avoid being a stereotype and I treat people for their personality. However, I am always cognizant of my self-concept, and I always care about what my fellow students have to say about me. I have always wanted to exhibit an admirable attribute and this issue forces me to be conscious about my undertakings or accomplishments. The self-concept plays a significant role in influencing my self-esteem. It helps me to understand or reflect regarding what I think about my abilities. I tend to question my social status a lot and such evaluation helps me to re-evaluate my aspirations and identify a path for my future.
Regarding how my identity or self-concept affects other students, I believe that it has no major issue considering my tendencies to relate to other students. Although my consciousness with my self-concept tends to influence my relationships with other students because I would love exhibit an admirable attitude, I hope it never rubs my fellow students in the wrong way. Perfectionism is a major issue for many students and this leads to students expecting higher expectations from each other. Self-criticism, low-self-esteem, and self-worth are possible effects if students fail to satisfy their expectations. As such, I am committed to developing an inclusive and healthy identity that will make me a better person.
