Temple Grandin is a woman considered different from other people. This is because she portrays the world in another way, unlike most people. She never uttered a word until when she was four. She was born with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, but she used her autistic abilities to expound on issues invisible to a neurotypical individual and she achieved this by thinking in pictures. During her childhood, she struggled and triumphed. When she was young she was good at art and a good visual learner and she tried to understand animals and their sensitivity. Currently, she is a world-renowned doctor of animal science, a professor at Colorado State University, and activists for autistic individuals (Grandin & Bowers, 2010)

Data collection methods 

The data collection methods that will be used to analyze Temple Grandin’s development pathways and gifted characteristics are interview and observation. Through the interview, we will be able to ask her how she uses her hearing sensitivity to understand animals and how she overcame her challenges. Through observation, we will be able to see how she uses her hearing sensitivity to deal with animals. The two methods will help in collecting more information concerning Temple Grandin and her talent.

General Ability 

The general ability of Temple Grandin is to think in pictures. She uses this skill to design livestock facilities. She can visualize projects in her mind before they are built. 

Domain-Specific Ability 

The domain-specific ability of Temple Grandin is using her hearing sensitivity to understand animals and their sensitivities (Grandin & Panek, 2013) . She is able to understand how animals think and feel and that is why she is a doctor of animal science. 

Creativity 

Temple Grandin invented the squeeze machine that helped her to calm down as it helped her to control her pressure and become relaxed when she experiences tension. The squeeze chute for examination is now being used by livestock facilities around the world to make the animals safe and calm. 

Psychological Factors 

The psychological factor associated with Temple Grandin is visual thinking. Through her visual thinking, she is able to understand how animals think and behave. 

(e) Socio-cultural and Chance Factors 

She has managed to overcome sexism among animals, including communication, social , and language issues concerning autism. Autisms has helped her decode the behavior of animals and understand their thinking (Grandin & Panek, 2013)

Talent development pathway 

In relation to Gagné’s model, the Natural ability of Temple Grandin is the visual ability. She is able to think in pictures even when she was young. Her talent was art and since she was young, she drew pictures of animals. Concerning developmental process, she learned her first language in school and she had two speech therapy teachers. Concerning intrapersonal catalysts Temple was diagnosed with autism which was associated with brain damage. This influenced learning in a negative way. Concerning Environmental Catalysts, Temple received support from her mother, science teacher, and aunt in the development of her talent. Finally, concerning chance, Temple had a hearing sensitivity that enabled her to understand the behavior of animals and how they think. 

Conclusion 

Temple Grandin is a very different person as she sees things in a different way, unlike other people. Although she was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, she managed to apply her autistic abilities to her advantage. Through her abilities, she is able to understand how animals think and their behavior. Her abilities have made her become a renowned doctor of animal science throughout the world.
