Globally, nature and nurture influence the personalities and behaviors of human beings. Human beings become who they are through nature and nurture in that nature says that genes determine a person. In contrast, nurture claims the development of a person is through the environment. However, many people have researched which term between nature and nurture is important in human character development leading to more ideologies than factual insights. Psychologically, human beings' moral character is highly dependent on nature and nurture debate leading to controversies and offenses. For instance, most great basketball players are tall, which is a genetic advantage that may lead them to have athletic skills that short people don't have. It is not the short person's fault not to be tall; it might be natural Treiber, (2016); Granqvist & Nkara, (2017) .
Consequently, people need to appreciate their strengths of character rather than being debilitated due to their weaknesses. In the environment that people live in, wise people such as parents, individuals, teachers and coaches can create conditions for others and themselves to flourish in different environments. Therefore, when a person develops awareness of their character strengths, they will most likely focus on their strengths rather than weaknesses. This focus may be termed as the science of positive psychology that defines who we are at our best of qualities that will improve all the areas in our lives.

When I was growing up as a child, I was raised in a Christian house where we were all taught to be honest, loving and trusting in God. I agree that nature and nurture contribute to the character traits determined through the character strengths survey. These top three-character traits from the survey were honesty, love and spirituality. According to Granqvist & Nkara (2017) , spirituality, nurture which includes our culture, plays a role in influencing our evolved psychological predisposition, which is usually expressed in our spirituality. Understanding the development of spirituality and religion is important to link both nature and nurture as the main contributors. Spirituality and religion are developed through evolved cognitive modules: nature and socialization, which is nurtured. It is important to note that human spirituality's psychology is shaped by both the environment and nature through the family background. For instance, when I was growing up, our family used to have church services in our home, which became natural. According to Treiber (2016), nature and nurture contribute to love, where maternal love and societal love determines a person's emotional well-being and future personality. Consequently, nurture and nature play a role in shaping how people tend to show love to others.
The genetic factors of an individual affect the behaviours and the social environment that they live, play and work in. Granqvist & Nkara (2017) says that when children are born, they tend to have emotional needs that their mothers provide in which the mother's love is turned into a biological necessity. Additionally, the social environment that an individual grows in and interacts with influences their behaviors and love towards each other ( McQuaid et al., 2018) . Therefore, through social friends, we keep a person able to transfer their love positively from their biological parents' love. For instance, certain genes from children whose parents have shown love increase the probability of the children showing love to their friends in the environment they are exposed to. The development of prosocial behaviors in most people is linked between their nature and nurturing, both from genes and their parenting. Honesty is one of the character strengths that I have in which nature and nurture played a significant role in forming. Therefore, nature and nurture work closely together where naturally, a person has the oxytocin levels that naturally play a role in honesty and empathy towards people.
According to Treiber (2016), naturally, the character of honesty is in me due to t the oxytocin receptor hormone circulating in me with different forms called polymorphism: AA, AG and GG. GG polymorphism presented a higher level of honesty and empathy compared to the other AA or AG polymorphism. In nurture, my parents played a huge role in teaching me the importance of being honest in society created by the parental bond. In conclusion, the parental and societal affection, understanding and bond towards me directly correlate to the character strengths that I possess of honesty, love and trust in God.
