The contemporary dispensation of technology influences the phenomenon of increased media use by children in the modern family setup. I feel that the exposure of young children to media use to improve their cognitive abilities. Media usage exposes children to a wide range of useful information that could help their ability to fathom new ideologies. However, continued usage of media by young children may interfere with their social development (Berger & Carlson, 2020). My perception is based on various reports by pediatrics pointing out that untamed exposure of young children to media usage impairs the development of empathy and problem-solving skills.
Non-Traditional Family Units
The current generation is witnessing the emergence of family units that are unique from the traditional setup of families. The conventional family setup identifies a husband and a wife as a genesis of a family. The contemporary ideology of family is flexible to allow same-sex marriage and adoption of children as a relevant family unit. I feel that these types of family setup are not appropriate (Berger & Carlson, 2020). The reason is that children the children growing under same-sex parented families will lack a balanced parental influence during upbringing.
Social, Economic Status
I strongly feel that social and economic advancements influence the evolution of family setups in modern society. The children living in affluent family setup are the advantage of exposure better quality up bring compared. The socioeconomic status of a family would determine the accessibility of better social amenities and access to media.
Child Maltreatment
I perceive that the act of adopting children in same-sex marriage as a form of child maltreatment. The proper up bring of children factors balanced parenting as a vital element in the effective cognitive development of a child (Ciscato, Galichon & Goussé, 2020). The current contemporary family structure is threatening the effective and tranquil up bring environment that young children should access.
