A. Explain your classroom management philosophy.

1. Justify your classroom management philosophy using  one  evidence-based classroom management theory.

The classroom management plan is a must-have tool to improve classroom management behavior (Kubat & Dedebali, 2018). When students are learning in a safe environment, learning is most effective. I anticipate that by the end of each calendar year, my students will become smarter than the previous year. I want to foster a good relationship with my students. I do not want to be authoritarian; I want my students to feel free to approach me when they have an issue. Discipline is closely connected to the performance of students (Baumann & Krskova, 2016). I believe in observing students for patterns that would suggest rogue behavior or any indication of waywardness. Positive behavior support (PBS) is an intervention model based on the service of learning and allows for the fostering of helpful behaviors through the reinforcement of practice behaviors (Egeberg et al., 2016). The model anticipates that things may go wrong. It also suggests that preventing things from going wrong is better than reacting after they go wrong. Should any misbehavior be registered, the learner’s parents and the teacher meet to discuss the matter.

B. Explain and reference an evidence-based strategy you will use to establish expectations and rules in your future classroom, including the following:

A list of classroom expectations

Learners must be well disciplined in class and maintain respect .

Learners must follow all instructions from the teacher.

Learners should participate in co-curricular activities.

A list of classroom rules

There should be silence in the classroom.

The learners must be well-behaved whether the teacher is in class or not.

Students should respect each other.

Learners should always keep the classroom.

Learning tools should be kept clean and untampered.

C. Explain and reference an evidence-based strategy you will use to establish  two  or more routines in your future classroom.

Include a list of the procedural steps the students will have to perform in order to complete the routines.

Goal setting is one of the routines that I will enforce in the classroom. Before the learning process commences, I will confirm whether every student has a notebook. The students will write down what they plan to achieve by the end of the day. Daily, I will have a meeting with the students to understand if they met their goals, and if not, to understand why. Through this routine, I will be better positioned to understand the needs and challenges that the learners are facing on a day-to-day basis. Goal-setting is one of the most significant ways of exerting one’s effort and willingness to excel in his/her educational pursuit (Meyer et al., 2019). I will allow them to talk about their successes and failures during the day and any challenges they might face. Another routine that I will implement is classroom attendance and the student’s participation in all group work, discussions, tests, and quizzes. The students need to participate in completing tasks assigned to their groups.

D. Describe a step-by-step strategy for how you will handle routine misbehavior in your classroom, including  one  related source or real-world example to support the use of your strategy

To effectively handle routine misbehavior, I will have the student understand their misbehavior and why it is unacceptable. Then I will take them through a correction process, beginning with a demonstration of what they should have done. Lastly, I will reasonably punish the student. I will also make the student commit that they will not repeat the same misconduct. For example, the misbehaving student must write an apology letter addressed to the teacher. By writing the apology letter, the students will be committed to enhancing discipline in the classroom.

E. Describe strategies you will use to create an emotionally safe classroom environment by doing the following:

1. Describe at least  one  strategy to effectively deal with emotions

Engaging the students and carrying out counseling sessions will help in dealing with emotional problems.

2. Describe at least  one  strategy to effectively deal with conflicts.

The no-contention techniques will work well with solving conflicts. For example, dialogue will be most appropriate.

3. Describe at least  one  strategy to effectively deal with serious behavior problems.

Regular seminars on discipline and conversing with the parents of the affected students will help me deal with extreme cases as far as behavior is concerned.

4 . Describe how an emotionally-safe classroom fosters learning.

An emotionally safe classroom enhances learning since the students’ retention ability is at the optimum level. A mentally-troubled student will lose all concentration in class.
