Completing the working memory quiz felt like participating in a 100metres race. The quiz was short but required the mind to stay focused, listen attentively and be able to record before repeating. The first four questions were easy, and I was able to remember all the numbers, but as the figure got longer, I did not recall the last part. In general, I found it difficult to complete the quiz because I forgot the last digits. In the quiz, the brain was supposed to code and decode the numbers very fast, and it got difficult as the digits needed to remember increased.
I once experienced a lapse in my working memory. I was suffering a lot of stress at the time. Things were a bit hard for my family, and the situation was not good for any of us from my parents to the children. It was the first time to experience a stressing situation, and things were thick. One morning I was headed to the bathroom so I could shower and go to school. The towels had been cleaned and left to sundry, and my mother had reminded me to carry a towel. I hurried into the bathroom to finish and find that I did not carry the towel. To make matters worse the same morning I forgot where I placed my notebook the previous night and went to school without the book.

The video on "Dementia from the inside" relates to the cognitive processes learned in section 14.3 in that the learning process happens through experience. Human being acquires knowledge through cognition. During the process of memory loss, someone may recognize things that they saw in the past. Things learned through observation or experience are difficult to forget. As a person ages, the cognitive functions of the memory deteriorate, and it is a normal human body function. However, in some cases, the brain might develop problems which may result in cognitive functions decreasing at a significant rate than what happens in normal aging. The condition is known as Dementia. The video on "Dementia from the inside” show how someone suffering from dementia cognitive process of that individual is affected. The elderly woman can remember when she was young and how she met her husband and started dating, how she would ride on his bike and how they went to a particular hotel. However, it is difficult to remember how she got to her bed.
I have experience working with elderly people suffering from dementia. I was working as a volunteer in an elderly persons’ home, and I came across an elderly man who has dementia. One of the most intriguing thing that happened was that the person would remember something that happened a long time ago but forget something that he had last night. One evening he was visited by his daughter, and he was complaining to her how long it has been since he was served with his favorite meal a chicken roll. Amazingly the caretaker had served him the same meal the previous night. Amazingly he always remembered his daughter's name, and he would always ask why she was not going to visit him. The experience left me wondering about how the man could remember things that he learned a long time ago and forget something that happened the previous night.
