Over many years, college athletes have been participating in competitions in their schools, without pay. When some colleges started recruiting students who can be paid, the National Collegiate Athletics Association proposed that the athletes should only be compensated through scholarships, free fee and a living income. However, many stakeholders believe that colleges earn a lot of money through the competition from the athletes. Still, the students might ignore their academic careers because of the payment they are receiving. The gravity of the matter arises when the colleges mishandle funds meant for athletes, and the students ignoring their education ( Senne 2016) . Therefore, the student’s athletes must realise that the school already have a massive publication of their work and a change in the administration towards their payment might arise loss of funds.
Moreover, the athletes gain more in the field than the non-athletes students who leave colleges in many debts. The schools are advised to come up with effective plans on how to make students balance their education and athletics. All stakeholders should have a workshop in all colleges to teach the students the importance of balance. Is it not clear that the students attended school for academic prowess? If it was not the case, they could have ventured into athletics before school.

Abstract
The argument of whether the athletes’ students should be paid for their work has gained controversies from many organisations. Some organisation have held the fact that these athletes are core earners in their schools and must be paid, while others refute the statement by saying that the students are getting more benefits from their schools than other non-athletic students. This paper will seek to explain why the schools should not pay the athletes' students. The first reason is that the schools might mishandle the funds meant for the athletes, rendering other parts of the school mismanaged. The second reason is that the school has already used a lot of money to advertise their work so no need for payment. Moreover, the last reason is that athletes gain many skills from the field, such as working as a team than other students. In conclusion, the students participating in athletes stands at a more advantageous ground than other students and should not be paid.
