The term communication has several ramifications. Basically, it is a process of interaction with the individual and their environment. Through communication, individuals can impact attitudes, belief, and ideas of each other. Such interactions occur through the exchange of information through expression, symbols, signs, and gestures. In an organization, communication is a continuous procedure of receiving and giving information and to enhance social relationships. Communication is a crucial aspect in the society, and it has evolved over the year. Presently, communication has been simplified through the invention of sophisticated equipment which was not present in the past. To ensure the message is conveyed efficiently, individuals are required to enhance their communication skills, if not, the message being conveyed may lack clarity. This paper highlights what communication is, what types of communications exist, why communications are important and how communications are observed in daily life. 

Types of Communications 

Verbal or spoken Communication: 

Whenever more than two individuals interact with one another in the form of a conversation, it is referred to as the mode of verbal communication. Classic cases of verbal communication might include one-on-one interaction, telephonic conversation, seminars and meetings between two people ( Risius and Beck, 2014) . The main benefit of this kind of communication is that it provides one with immediate feedback. At a conference, a speaker is able to envision without a lot of struggle the way the audience is receiving his lecture. The lecture might likewise fine-tune the tone of his communication.

Additionally, oral communication differs according to the situation as well as the individual ( Risius and Beck, 2014) . The manner in which the lawyer behaves in the courtroom cannot be the same with how he behaves in his everyday interaction. Otherwise, he will be called ‘insane’

Written Communication: 

This is the common means of communication in the official environment. A lot of an individual’s success depends on his capability to communicate effectively through this approach ( Littlemore, 2003). With this kind of communication, one can store, multiply or reproduce any information. However, this kind of communication does not offer immediate feedback. 

Non-Linguistic Communication: 

Another form of communication is through the use of symbols. Some few examples of non-linguistic communication involve railway signals, road signs as well as traffic lights ( Risius and Beck, 2014) . Gestures are also another form of communication which can be used whenever a person is not able to meet someone as a result of some obligations or if they are at a distance away from each other. ‘KINESICS’ is another branch of communication that has been newly discovered and it is on the journey to growth. It involves the survey of non-verbal communication such as voice, appearance, body movement and others. 

Bilateral or Dyadic Communication: 

Dyadic is a term that has been derived from ‘di’ which denotes two. Per se, dyadic communication occurs between two individuals. It might be nonverbal or verbal, informal conversation between two acquaintances, two friends or between a wife and husband, etc ( Risius and Beck, 2014) . This type of conversation does not have fast or hard rules. Besides it being a routine, it is also part and parcel of our lives

Although, formal dyadic communication require artistry as well as it can be developed if one consistently does practice ( Risius and Beck, 2014) . Some formal forms of dyadic communication include dictation, instruction, interview, conversation, telephonic conversation as well as face-to-face conversation. 

Interactive or Face to Face conversation: 

Face to face communication is what people mostly use from time to time at home. This communication does not need any official decorum. Conversations that occur outside our homes, for example, those that take place at offices, parks, parties as well as restaurants do not have to adhere to any rigid rule. Though, if we keep in mind the following points, we may be labeled as a pleasant ‘conversationalist’ ( Risius and Beck, 2014). 

Importance of communication 

Communication assist to spread information and knowledge among individuals. For instance, an author can write an article, journal or books to impart knowledge to the world and teachers share what they have experienced with their students ( Risius and Beck, 2014) . Correspondingly, co-workers or friends deliberate their ideas with each other and organizations interchange information with customers and subsidiaries. Also, the advent of the internet has not only permitted individuals to have better access to information or knowledge in all area but also make it faster and easy to connect with individuals all over the world. Undeniably, sharing information and knowledge cannot click without communication ( Littlemore, 2003) . Consequently, organizations will not operate, and humanity will be drowned in the void of ignorance. Communication assist in spreading information and knowledge among individuals

Furthermore, communication is the fundamental of all human association. At first, strangers commence getting to talking to comprehend each other, and then the relationships are created when they have more communication and interaction ( Littlemore, 2003) . Communicating assist individuals to air out their feelings and ideas, simultaneously, it helps us comprehend the thoughts and emotions of the others. Therefore, we shall develop hatred and affection toward other individuals, and negative and positive relationships will be generated. 

How communications are observed in daily life. 

The following are how communication manifests its self in our daily lives. 

In our daily lives, we meet with for official or personal purpose, and it is important to commence with a brief introduction. When introducing our self, it is good to employ facial expression ( Risius and Beck, 2014). 

During meetings, it is possible to call people with their names. 

When communicating with other people, it is important to maintain eye contact. By ensuring there is eye contact the other parties get more interest in the speeches that we give ( Littlemore, 2003)

Speaking clearly and slowly is important when communicating with other individuals so that our conversation can be easily comprehended ( Littlemore, 2003)
