When looking for job options, the types of compensation packages given by an institution serve as the first factor I consider. These packages provide an overview of inner dynamics of the organization, allowing me to judge the management, and progress and visions of the company. Compensation protocols and the procedure a company uses in recognizing and rewarding exemplary employees are also factors I consider when searching for employment. In my opinion, these determine the transparency of the firm, and also gives assurance that efficient workers will be recognized and appreciated ( Martocchio, 2015) . The third factor I consider in search of job options is the wage offered, and whether it is bound to rise or it is stagnant throughout the employment period.
These factors of consideration have significantly changed over the last five years. Previously, the amount of money I earned and employment group were the only factors I considered in searching for a job, as this directly determined amount I earned at the end of the month. Personal and professional growth have been the main factors behind the change in compensation interests, building me from a money-oriented employee to a career development-oriented professional. Personal changes have particularly impacted my top compensation factors, as a desire to become wealthy has been overtaken by the commitment of building my career and consequently use it as a stepping stone to attaining the desired wealth. Previously, employment had been my objective, as I perceived it to be rewarding, a sentiment which has since changed. Today, I wish to use my professionalism and contacts I obtain during my employment period to build my firm. Consequently, I have identified that working in a competitive organization is the only way I can grow and achieve my professional ambitions.
