Poverty refers to a situation in which an individual does not have sufficient amounts of funds to help him or her to fully afford the primary needs in life. The concept map, therefore, shows the idea of extreme poverty or homelessness that carries a strong set of risks for the families in particular on children. It compares the kids living in poverty but having habitats versus homeless children who are at high risk of getting poor meals as well as immunization. Women who are homeless have high chances of getting low weight babies, miscarriages, as well as high infant mortalities (Calkin, 2017). The main reason is that they lack sufficient access to proper health care and meals for the babies.

Most of the sociology experts have been concerned about the adverse effects of poverty on the minority races in the nation which increases the case of joblessness, particularly among the black African Americans in the country. The problem of poverty is brought about by reduced levels of education that is making most of the minorities to fail to qualify for the jobs in big firms because of their educational status. Thus, the race has contributed to the increase in poverty levels in the society by making it difficult for the minorities to access higher education, which in turn results in a large number of them failing to get hired in the manufacturing industries and other sectors in the country. For instance, studies conducted by Pulido (2015) have shown that Hispanic Americans have high chances of leading better lives free of poverty as compared to the black African Americans as the local Hispanic owned ventures as well as low skill industries have been used to support most of them with employment.
