This is a process that occurs via the cooperation between the environmental stimulus and a naturally occurring stimulus. This type of learning has regulated behaviorism and functions in conditional and real-life settings (Belg, 2018) . Phobia is an example of classical conditioning, which refers to an exceptional fear of something. I have height phobia infused in my mind after falling with a ladder while climbing on top of our house and breaking my leg. My height phobia has generalized to other areas, such as climbing a tree and mountains. Before the condition occurred, climbing ladders and trees was just a normal stimulus. 

The classical conditioning has played a significant impact on my height phobia through its principals, such as:

The unconditioned stimulus is a condition that prompts a response automatically, naturally, and wholeheartedly. When I am hit by anything, I immediately remember the pain I felt when I fell from a ladder. 

Unconditional response. This refers to the unlettered response that happens naturally in response to unconditional stimuli. My example, remembering the pain that I felt after falling, is the absolute reaction. 

A controlled stimulus is a neutral stimulus that triggers the conditioned response after associating with the unconditioned stimulus. When I fell, I heard country music "the gambler” playing inside our house; therefore, whenever I hear the song, I remember the pain that I felt. 

Conditioned response. This is a learned behavior by an individual combining the strong stimulus, and impartial stimulus. The tone of the song, which is an unconditioned stimulus, triggers the conditioned reaction. 

Operant conditioning 

This is a mechanism of acquiring skills that leads to awards and punishment of conduct. This condition links an individual between a particular reaction and a repercussion (McLeod, 2018) . As I was a child, I use to help my mom in cleaning the utensils. My mother would appreciate me and even to the extent of buying me presents. This motivated me that I could do it immediately; the meal was over. From my self-drive and volunteering to help mom, I instilled a positive reinforcement in her. My parents would always feel proud of me and always encouraged me to continue with that attitude. The self-drive behavior has enabled me to acquire a lot of rewards and helped me keep performing the house chore. Positive reinforcement is essential as it inspires someone to improve his/her behaviors. 

Behavior modification 

This refers to changing patterns of behaviors by using learning mechanisms as biofeedback and positive and negative reinforcement. The approach helps individuals rectify the set of reactions of a given stimulant (Diagnosis, 2020) . The therapeutic approach helped me to realize a petty behavior my roommate has. I have noticed that his habits are always playing loud music at night when everybody in the apartment is asleep. This destructs our neighbors, and he doesn’t stop; therefore, I have felt it quite disgusting and should find a way to stop it. The best principle of operant conditioning that can be used to stop him is negative reinforcement. Supplement denial happens when an annoying stimulus is removed to acquire the desired behavior and strengthen it. I will always unplug the music system from the power source whenever he puts loud music. Since my roommate likes listening to music, he will always ensure that the music is lower to prevent me from putting off. 

Behavior modification aids in reducing or stopping a specific behavior. I will use aversion therapy technique to modify my roommate's behavior; it involves combining annoying stimuli and unwanted responses to remove the practice. I will always switch the power off at the main source at night to make sure that he cannot play music. Switching the power off will prevent him from playing loud music. Modifying behaviors is essential and should be implemented to ensure that reactions being observed and measured are good.
