The report by Manny about the drunk condition of Pete is serious and may constitute a serious crisis. This case involves a minor and handling it would require knowledge and deep insights of both the constitution and the societal moral guidelines. The counselors cannot handle this case in total confidentiality, and therefore the parents have to be involved. Based on the backdrop of knowledge that the parents of Pete are aware that he abuses alcohol, it becomes difficult to understand whether the parents should be involved in the process of helping Pete from the drinking problem or whether a lawsuit should be filed against the parents before helping Pete.
Moreover, a crisis arises in the fact that Pete is still a minor and therefore requires the guidance, love, and care from the parents. It is definite that the parents he has have failed and the next cause of action would be to report them to the authorities. The constitution does not allow alcohol abuse among the children under 18 years (Johnson, 2017). Moreover, it is not morally and medically okay for Pete to start using alcohol at such a tender age. The counselor would be in a state of a dilemma on how to best handle this issue. The school counselor cannot keep this issue away from Pete’s parents, but he would have to warn Manny from sharing with other students since this may affect Pete psychological and affect his recovery from the use of drugs (Johnson, 2017).

The course of action for the counselor would be to take Pete for a counseling session and later report the parents to the authority. Someone would have had to act as a parent figure to Pete as the parents sort their mess with authority. The person chosen would have to be of high moral standing in the society and be able to guide him in the right direction as he receives therapy out of the drinking problem (Capuzzi & Gross, 2014).
