In essence, the rate at which people have been contracting eukaryotic has no doubt been alarming in the recent years. Apparently, there are different types of eukaryotic microorganisms: algae, fungi, protozoa, and helminths. However, this paper will focus on protozoa. Notably, protozoa are considered as rather single-celled eukaryote which feeds on organic tissues as well as debris. This organism comes in different shapes and sizes including Amoeba which sometimes can change its shape to a rather paramecium with a complex structure (Gutiérrez-Grobe, Barrera-Ochoa, & Yamamoto-Furusho, 2017). One common trait for protozoa is that they live in a moist environment.

Primarily, protozoa are regarded as rather microscopic unicellular eukaryotes. Apparently, it has a comparatively complex internal structure as well as performing complicated activities. Additionally, some protozoa are designed with a propulsion structure.
Life Cycle
Protozoa undergo a stage called trophozoites where they actively feed as well as multiplying frequently. They then undergo a stage where they develop a protective membrane or rather a thickened wall called cysts (Gutiérrez-Grobe, Barrera-Ochoa, & Yamamoto-Furusho, 2017). In this light, they tend to develop a tough resistance wall especially when they are outside the host.

Essentially, protozoan infections are considered to be parasitic diseases that are formally caused by organism classified under the Kingdom protozoa (Gutiérrez-Grobe, Barrera-Ochoa, & Yamamoto-Furusho, 2017). Apparently, some of the main diseases that are caused by protozoa include malaria, babesiosis, toxoplasmosis, protozoan infection, giardiasis, and African trypanosomiasis.
How Protozoa Is Transmitted
There are different ways in which protozoa are transmitted in the human body depending on human tissue they attack. For instance, those that are transmitted in the human intestine are acquired through fecal-oral route while those that live in human blood are transmitted by a rather arthropod vector.
Sign and Symptoms of Protozoa in Diagnostic Stage
Parasitic infection comes along with various signs and symptoms to the host. Apparently, some of the common sign and symptoms of protozoa infection include constipation, gas and bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, and joint and muscle aches and pains.
Organ System That Protozoa Attack
While protozoa can affect different human body parts, there are certainly specific organ systems that they are often found in their life cycle (Gutiérrez-Grobe, Barrera-Ochoa, & Yamamoto-Furusho, 2017). Some of the major parts organ parts they are likely to be found include intestines and in the blood tissues.
