Covid-19 is an infectious disease caused by a virus from the Coronaviridae family. It affects humans' respiratory organs. Infected individuals experience different kinds of symptoms ranging from mild to severe symptoms (Restubog et al., 2020). The virus has spread to all parts of the world, causing a global pandemic, which has negatively impacted the economy and has brought about social disruptions.
The World Health Organisation put forth measures and restrictions to reduce the spread of the virus. They include wearing masks to cover parts of the nose and mouth, washing or sanitizing hands, and maintaining social distance. These restrictions have brought about workplace conflicts, either between the employees or between the employees and the employer (Restubog et al., 2020). Refusal to wear masks by some employees causes panic and uproar as some view it as an act of negligence, leading to the spread of the virus if one was infected. Some employees may fail to maintain social distance leading to disorder (Restubog et al., 2020). However, some employers may be ignorant of their employees' concerns regarding their workplace safety in times of covid-19. This ignorance may extend to health departments thus, resulting in these employers having conflicts with officials from the health sector.

Some of the solutions that could reduce these conflicts include enacting ground rules at the workplace, such as wearing masks and maintaining social distance for physical meetings (Kniffin et al., 2021). The employers have to initiate disinfection plans on surfaces, have markings for social distancing on the floors and doors, provide hand sanitizers, and ensure that the workplace is well ventilated (Kniffin et al., 2021). Employers should also cater to the employees' emotional needs. They should be understanding as they resolve the conflicts as some employees project their personal stress such as losing a loved one to covid-19.
