Mobile technology is extensively advancing around the globe, and due to the need to enhance live experiences, digital technologies are widely applied in various aspects. The mobile industry is undergoing significant changes in order to satisfy its consumers. In the recent past, many smartphones were run by the mobile devices' windows operating system (OS), which is believed to have affected the design of their own OS. Due to its technical features, Apple has taken the lead for sometime in the market with the ability to compete with other big players such as Nokia, Sum sang, Microsoft, and Sonny-Ericson. Apple Inc. in 2007, introduced its esteemed product, the iPhone, which has revived its antagonism with the mentioned players (Macedonia, 2007).

Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple Inc. saw that the cell phones could become important for the access of portable information, and needed to have the best synchronization software. He therefore, did not focus on the Newton PDA but facilitated Apple to work on the iPod, and to develop iTunes which could synchronize information with iPod devices. Apple could not produce the phones they wanted because they were in conjunction with Motorola. It had to discontinue the support of ROKR in order to release its own version of iTunes. The version had references to an unknown mobile phone, which could display video and pictures.

The announcement of iPhone after its release got the world’s attention. The device incorporates many technologies that include sensors, phone, multi-touch interface, video camera, video and audio player, a small screen with high resolution, as well as various wireless communication methods. It has two sensors. The accelerometer detects motion in all directions. The Core location framework applies the device's hardware (cellular triangulation, and GPS) to determine the location and heading of the user. About its graphics and media, the C-based Open Graphics Library is used to visualize 3D, and 2D data. It also uses a 2D drawing engine known as quartz. The quartz's rendering is low-level, 2D, and light-weight, with an unmatched output fidelity. It is also independent on device and resolution. The quartz gives access to special features such as off-screen rendering, path-based drawing, transparency layers, advanced color management, and anti-aliased. The iPhone has the ability to handle touch events, provided by the multi-touch interface of the iOS. The touch events are created whenever the screen is touched, then the events are tracked and reacted to by the system (Ireland, Gary & Maxim, 2010).

The impacts of iPhone have influenced various domains- finance, culture, and technology are the major areas. It is believed to have helped Apple protect and expand the bases of iPod devices to domains of smart gadgets. Its technical specifications emphasizes more on aesthetics than features. The device has a 480by 320, 3.5 inch touch screen whose display must be lighted for the access of its simulated keys, as well as other inputs. Its plethora of wireless capabilities include the Bluetooth 2.0, GSM (with multiple flavors), and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g (iPhone’s primary broadband access method). It was made to use T& T's for 2.5 generation, about 250 kbps data rates. All the device's computing, communications, and graphics require smart batteries and horsepower (Macedonia, 2007).

The iPhone is owned by Apple Inc., the American multinational technology company, situated in Cupertino, California. Apple’s iPhone was brought to users to utilize their digital environment in a more friendly way. What was just an innovation has become industry product. Apple updates the world about the device, as well as conducting yearly software updates (Campbell, Heidi & Pastina, 2010).

In conclusion, several areas of continued development of iPhone could benefit from further research. Currently, it can only manipulate scene graph nodes that are imported from other files. The additional types of nodes, such as light, and particle systems need further. Also, the device could be advanced further to create additional OSG groups in the application to help users manage complex scene graphs (Newendorp, 2009).
