Presentation on the ‘Planned Change Process’ played a significant role in enhancing my evidence-based practice in the foster care sector. The background of the case study was analyzed in the introduction of the presentation. Background information is essential in identifying the existence of a foster care concern in society. According to the case study, there was a need to place specific kids to a foster home because of parental negligence. Identification of social concern is the first step towards resolving foster care concerns.
The second phase of the presentation was aimed at determining the treatment strategy of the foster care concern. The treatment approach is essential in ensuring that the strategy chosen by the foster care professional is in line with the codes of the foster care sector. The analysis of different methods also allowed me to acknowledge the roles and responsibilities of parents, guardians, and foster parents. The phase also enabled me to recognize the primary policies of foster care placement, like placing siblings in the same foster homes. The skills of engagement are essential because they complement the treatment strategy used in the provision of foster care services.

The third phase, which was the analysis of the problem, enabled me to determine the motive of the client. Different foster care practitioners, especially in social care, are often motivated by various factors. The analysis allowed me to confirm that the client has positive intentions of giving the children a conducive environment. Other practitioners might be driven by personal financial gains, which is not an ethical approach to foster care provision.

I learned that the best social care should be in line with the purposes of the foster care sector. Participating in the process allowed me to enhance my social service and social care service provision. Communicating with the children enabled me to acknowledge and appreciate the significance of diversity in society. I believe that actual involvement in social work allows a practitioner to have an in-depth understanding of the concerns of the community.
The experience that I underwent during the case study of the planned change process was different from what I expected. The entire analysis and presentation were more educative and evidence-based than I had expected. The experience allowed me to be enlightened on several elements in the foster care provision sector, including communication skills, data collection, data analysis, and information interpretation skills. I was, therefore, excited during the entire process and what interested me the most was the ability to achieve the set goals and objectives of the research study.
