Language and literacy
The language and literacy activity was conducted on Monday, May 7, 2018, at the Learning Center. It involved a small group of six children undertaking an activity named My Passport. Each of the children was expected to make a passport using various materials such as glue, markers, pencils, name tags, vocabulary word (Chile) and an actual passport for reference. The teacher explained the importance of a passport and its features before asking the children to make its sample using the materials provided. The essence of this activity was to test the language and literacy skills of the children such as identification of sounds and letters. The activity was successful because the children followed the instructions, asked questions and also sought assistance. However, some of the children needed assistance writing down the vocabulary, but the schedule was not flexible enough to accommodate their needs. Therefore, similar activities in future should be organized within a flexible schedule that enables the teacher to offer individual assistance to each child.
Dramatic Play
The Dramatic play activity took place on Monday, May 8, 2018, at the dramatic play area. It consisted of a small group of four children. This play aimed to help the children understand various Chilean fishing items and how they are used during fishing. They were provided with fishing clothing from Chile such as fishing vests and hats. Also, the children were given a net, bucket, magnetic paper fish and fishing rods. Prior to the dramatic play, the teacher gave detailed information about fishing among the Chilean people. He/she also made use of gestures to demonstrate how the net is cast in the water. The children were expected to observe class rules such as sharing the toys and using kind language. Generally, the activity was successful because the children were able to use the fishing items appropriately and most of them were familiar with the items from past fishing experiences with their families. However, the dramatic play area has a limited space to accommodate four children at the same time. Therefore, the number of children playing at a time should be reduced to give them ample space to play.

The children were expected to color the kite, glue the bow ties and then count and write the number of the bow ties on the kite. The teacher guided the students at each step of the activity and also commended their efforts to encourage them. The activity was a success because the children were in a position to follow the directions offered. In fact, some of the children went to the extent of helping others to count. However, one of the children had autism, and he/she had difficulties writing down the numbers. Similar activities in future should incorporate more activities such as the use of animals to make learning more interesting.

The focus of the activity was the book Little Stanley Learns about Chile . The objective was to enable the children to learn important facts about Chile such as mountains. Furthermore, the format of the book that was used was an E-book instead of a printed one. The teacher intended to introduce the children to E-books and explain the differences between them and printed ones. Additionally, the teacher kept the children engaged by reminding them that they would discuss the book at the end of the session and therefore each one of them had to pay attention. The literature activity was a success because the children managed to answer the questions that were asked. Since the children enjoyed sitting at the table, it should be used as an incentive to encourage effective learning in future.

The teacher provided the procedure by explaining the use of the materials that were given and the various shapes and colors that are in the Chilean flag. He/she kept the children occupied by asking them various questions about shapes and colors. Generally, the activity was a success because most of the children enjoyed using paint to make art. They were also keen as the teacher explained the procedure to be used. However, most of them had communication problems while asking for colors. The teacher needs to improve his/her communication skills for the children to understand clearly in future.

The children were expected to observe the changes that occurred to the celery and the colored water during the next few days. He/she also ensured that each child had enough personal space to conduct the activity. The music and movement activity was a success because the children had fun throughout the session. They followed instructions and used the instruments to make musical rhythms. However, they had a difficult time observing personal space during the activity. Sheet cheats should be used in future to guide the participants.

The activity aimed to help the children understand the shape of Chile, the city of Santiago and physical features such as Andes Mountains, the Pacific, and the Atlantic Ocean. The teacher guided the students throughout the activity as they made the world globe using paper plates, markers, strings, scissors and the map of Chile. In this activity, the children were to mix flour and water to experiment with touch, measurement, and texture. Use of flour was recommended because Chilean people have a culture of making bread on a daily basis. The activity aimed to enable the children to be aware of sensation and to acquire motor skills as they use wooden cups and spoons to measure and hold ingredients. The sensory activity was the most interesting of all the other activities. As a result, there was a lot of mess that was made around the table and the sink. Sensory activities in future should make use of a timer and a chart that indicates the turn of each child.
