Cultural diversity is the existence and acceptance of various cultures in society. When you work in a class with cultural diversity, there are various things that one expects to see which includes the presence of decorations that cater to all children in the classroom. The decorations will depend on the age of the children in the class as older children will have minimal decorations in their classes. Arrangement and supplies will also be arranged with consideration of the various cultures present in the class (Teaching Tolerance, n.d.). During a lesson, it would be expected that children are given a chance to respond and contribute to the teaching as the teacher is tolerant of all the learners in their class.

In a culturally diverse class, one is expected to hear conversations where students are tolerant of each other and appreciating their differences. The students would be expected to learn some character along the way. Honesty is important as children get to air their views on differences; they can identify and realize that the differences can be appreciated and help people live together in unity. The teacher should ensure to promote healthy conversations about diversity and why it is important to appreciate every student in the class. All students should be encouraged to participate in the conversation regarding cultural diversity (du Plessis, & Bisschoff, 2007).

The students would be studying what the curriculum stipulates; however, new content can be introduced to accommodate the needs of the diverse group of students (Lynch, 2015). They would be studying social awareness to enrich them with knowledge on ways in which they can extend cultural diversity outside the classroom. Students must realize that they are the future of the state and involving them to instill national values of cohesion would ensure that future generations are appreciative of cultural diversity. In so doing national unity would be promoted.
