With the emerging changes and challenges affecting the fundraising world, there has been a need for innovation. Therefore, new strategies must be employed to ensure that the non-profit organizations continue to thrive in their mandate to connect donors and well-wishers to various projects. As such, two approaches will be integral to the fundraising world and our organization specifically (Bray, 2016).
Crowdfunding is the first strategy which will transform how funds are generated to support various programs. With the emergence of platforms such as social media, many people are engaged and appealed to support various initiatives (Fired-Up Fundraising, 2015). New donors from all demographics are involved and engaged in a socially, convenient yet mission-focussed manner. To be successful at crowdfunding, there is the need for serious investment in social media presence (Wendroff, 2004). This means that the organization must employ social media managers who will control the communication and liaison on the internet. The social media messaging must be tailored in a very convenient manner which will encourage funding from the new donors. Additionally, active users that are major donors can be encouraged to be online ambassadors to enhance the crowdsourcing initiative.

The company will focus on attaining its set goals by shifting from the concept of fundraising to philanthropy. The philanthropy has the power to create a more moral perspective that will appeal to more individuals. It infuses a sense of higher calling to “our better human nature” (Fired-Up Fundraising, 2015). It evokes happy feelings where the donors feel that they are indeed coming to the aid of a needy party. This contrasts the concept of fundraising (Warwick, 2000). To many, fundraising evokes the feeling of pushiness and corporate activities. Additionally, many volunteers within non-profits feel much at home discussing their role when it comes to philanthropy. They feel as if they are in pursuit of an ethical goal which is a core tenet of charity work.
