In the harmonic cycle of about twenty-four hours and overlays of sleep, the hemostat is located on the central oscillator or the clock in the suprachiasmatic nucleus of the brain. Physiology is clearly expressed through the sleepwalking cycle. Deprivation of sleep leads to mood and mania elevation in the case of bipolar disorder. There is a particular interest in the relationship between diurnal function and mood mostly when a patient is in good health. The experimental mood instability investigation is limited and mainly confined to the symptoms pattern study despite the existence of previous suggestions of the importance of mood instability for determining the potential efficacy a possible treatment of mood stabilizing (Carr et al., 2018). The bipolar disorder participants get differentiated due to the diurnal changes in various daytime activities. An observational protocol was conducted between bipolar disorder patients and healthy volunteers aimed at observing the diurnal's total activity variation in comparison to the vertical acceleration and the heart rate.

The diurnal strength was exhibited through the heart rate, the vertical acceleration, and the total acceleration. Between an activity and sleeping, the health volunteers usually have a lag of one and a half hours with an in-phase heart rate in line with the action while the individuals with bipolar disorder had no lag (Carr et al., 2018). The bipolar disordered individuals' heart rates, however, have a one hour phase delay. On the other hand, individuals with borderline personality disorder the lag between sleep and activity usually are two hours with a delay between the heart rate and action amounting to three hours. Due to the antidepressant medication, the heart rate of healthy individuals is always lower than that of both individuals with bipolar disorder and those with a borderline personality disorder. The diurnal cycle does not correlate the frequency of mood in both the borderline personality disorder and bipolar individuals that is usually high but somewhat negative mood and irritability. In all the three groups, the diurnal measures and other various activities correlated positively.

In the studies of euthymic bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder, diurnal mood variation receives minimal attention is as much as it's an essential feature of severe depression. A significant diurnal component was as a result of positive mood evident on an inspection of the average mood profile. The element is coherent with the diurnal functions' three biological measures in the healthy volunteers and bipolar disorder groups at a frequency of one day or cycle ( Tsanas et al., 2016). A one-day activity is always weak in borderline personality disorder while on six hours, the healthy volunteers and the bipolar individuals show some action. One day cycle rhythm was less coherent with the irritable and negative mood in all participant groups when compared to the positive attitude.

There are various time disparities when it comes to the diurnal variation in the heart rate between individuals with a borderline personality disorder and those with bipolar disorder. Both bipolar disorders and borderline personality disorders abnormalities represent the de-synchronization of the heart rate diurnal rhythm. The healthy volunteers exhibited a decreased correlation between the heart rate, irritable and negative mood when compared to the other patients' group. The borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder patients have a strong link between cardiac function regulation and mood regulation in comparison with healthy volunteers. In borderline personality disorder, the diurnal function is a feature that has been neglected in the past but needs the same attention that bipolar disorders get or even more. Significant opportunities get offered by improved measurement of physiological variables exclusively to refine drug for the marked mood instability disorders to get treated.

Questions/Extrapolations

1. The diurnal function of the bipolar disorder has been one area neglected for a long time, and its high time well-detailed research gets conducted on the same.

2. When analyzing the borderline personality disorder sleeping and Heart rate cycles, why is the variability a different matter in the day to day sleeping given that it correlates with the instability state of the mood?
