The creation of the eLearning courses at Walmart follows a six-step process to ensure that the members of staff in the multinational retailer are well acquainted with their day-to-day operations. Firstly, the human resource department of the company chooses an authoring tool that is right for the company and the workers as well (Tarasowa, Khalili & Auer, 2015). The company ensures that the tool provides the department with the functions and features that are required for the eLearning. Secondly, the human resource management of Walmart performs in-depth research on the eLearning audience before the subject matter is selected (Tarasowa, Khalili, & Auer, 2015). Thirdly, the company looks into the best eLearning templates to suit the educational needs of the workers. Fourthly, the company assigns a cloud-based management system for learning for storage purposes. In that way, the learning materials cannot be altered by unauthorized parties or the employees themselves (Tarasowa, Khalili & Auer, 2015). Fifthly, links are selected by the team to add the resources and multimedia files meant for the learning. Lastly, the human resource team at Walmart is involved in the activities that ensure that the eLearning contents are simple and straightforward for the workers. A randomly selected group of workers from the various departments at Walmart is assigned the role to ensure that the eLearning content is straightforward but still serves the professional goals that the organization has for learning.

In the development of the eLearning course to advance the professional standards of the organization's employees, the human resource department has to ensure that it has figured out the problem that the course will attempt to solve before developing content that can be used to solve the given problem (Gradinaru, Moldoveanu & Moldoveanu, 2018). The development of the eLearning course for the employees at Walmart then necessitates the moderators to set the objectives that are associated with eLearning and ensures that they are specific, measurable, achievable, and realistic and time-bound. The primary goal of the 2019 eLearning course for Walmart is to enhance customer experience over the ecommerce platform. The development of the eLearning course follows the definition of the instructional plan (Gradinaru, Moldoveanu & Moldoveanu, 2018). The instruction plan for the eLearning process at Walmart follows a presentation of the content on both the company's intranet and the employees' eLearning platform. The employees are expected to make their efforts to cover the eLearning content provided, although they are guided by a schedule, which ensures that the workers are not late on their learning schedules. The fine-tuning and the publishing of the materials that are supposed to enhance the professional growth of Walmart's employees wrap up the development of the eLearning content.

Walmart is keen on performance and success, both of which necessitate the company to implement eLearning for its workers' professional development. After selecting a group of employees from different departments to report on the efficiency of the eLearning course created, the human resource department is by then sure of the readiness of the workers to have the new course rolled out to them (Maes & Isaacs, 2016). Readiness spans the psychological, social, human resource, financial, and technological readiness. The consideration of the readiness of both the organization and the workers leads to effective implementation of the eLearning course. The top management executives who are in charge of monitoring the training of the workers make the appropriate investments in the eLearning course. Once the financial aspects of the creation and implementation of the eLearning course are dealt with, the human resource management of Walmart looks into the possible hindrances to practical employee training and solves the individual, organizational, and technological barriers that they have identified. The employees are then let in on the new eLearning course that they should make an effort of learning (Maes & Isaacs, 2016). The regulations of the eLearning course are then stipulated for the members of staff to ensure that they are aware of them and stick to the guidelines so that the company can achieve the targets set for the eLearning course.

The effectiveness of the eLearning course that has been created at Walmart is evaluated both by the employees targeted by the learning as well as the human resources department. One of the areas that evaluation of the eLearning course focuses on is the instructional design. The evaluators of the eLearning course at Walmart consider the instructional design of the content to inspect both its strengths and its weaknesses (Carruth, 2017). The other evaluation aspect is the content's level of interactivity. The evaluators focus on how the material created for eLearning is interactive and suits their learning needs. The other area that the evaluation focuses on is the visual impact of the eLearning content. The evaluators judge the eLearning resource based on how they appear, that is whether they are friendly to the learners or not. Lastly, the evaluation of the eLearning courses focuses on the technical functions of the material (Carruth, 2017). The technical functions encompass the course interface and navigation, accessibility, hyperlinks and files, and the content display and sound.
