I have often participated in a variety of activities that made me discover my intellectual and academic interests. Looking at most of the activities I have often ventured into, I realized I have more leadership interest. For instance, I coordinated social service programs that enabled low-income children to access proper nutrition in public schools during my tenure as the school’s feeding logistics program coordinator. Such an engagement raised my spirit and increased my urge to develop more important leadership qualities to help more low-income populations access proper nutrition. Moving forward, I acted as an official youth spokesperson during the president’s campaign and went to low-income communities to show the president’s proposals. Besides, I served as a mentor at the Loyola workshop, guiding and training 80 students in my school by helping them develop leadership skills and taking part in civic engagement. Additionally, I was chosen democratically by all the school students to represent academic, environmental, and coexistence issues. I am also the head member of the environmental committee at Loyola farm.
Looking at all the activities I have participated in and the impact I have brought in the lives of youths and the low-income population when I join the University of Pennsylvania, I will explore my intellectual and academic interests in several ways. First, I will ensure that I study all the legal issues to understand rights of the people. Secondly, I will form various groups such as environmental groups, motivate fellow students to plant and harvest multiple crops, and manage projects for organic and sustainable development within the school. Nonetheless, since I am interested in political issues, I will always lead fellow students in establishing their political understanding and interests. Besides, I will represent fellow students, especially the low-income group, fighting for their rights and ensuring they study under less psychological stress. In other words, I will exploit my interests by developing more potent leadership skills.
