The Tyson foods company had a leader who led the company with his Christian views. Donnie Smith believed in the pyramid structure but used it in a different way. He believed that because people are at the top of the pyramid and get paid more it does not make them more valuable than others. He followed the structure of a peach tree; believing that the peaches are the star of the show. The peaches relate to the people that make the food and ensure the customers are taken care of. He believed he was at the root structure of the tree; as the leader, he gives the roots what they need in order to grow. The leader also gives direction, structure and supports the team who is the star of the show (Workmatters, 2020). The peaches are the people who actually make the food good and provide excellent service therefore they need all the tools and support to do so and as a leader that was his job. He made sure he valued all employees in the business.
According Proverbs 29:2, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” When a leader lives by good morals in how he talks, acts and treats others it greatly benefits the staff and the business. It is important to have a certain code or standard that people can look up to and even aspire to when one is a leader. Good leadership example brings about growth, trust and a sense of value in the business. These aspects make it favorable for a business to be very successful in all areas.
