From my observation, based on the teacher’s evaluation, I noticed that the teachers used a curriculum that places the student at the center of learning. From the observation, the teacher interacts directly with the student and differentiates them with regards to their differences in readiness and interest. From my observation during the evaluation, it is also evident that the teaching practices and method that are used are in align with to teaching standards that are outlined within the teacher growth rubric described by the Mississippi Department of the education. As a result, it would be logical to state that the teaching standards enhanced by the teaching within the areas are quality and measurable as outlined by the Mississippi rubric.
First, the lessons design within the classes is in line with the rubric as specified by Mississippi standards. The teacher differentiates students based on their interest and readiness. The teacher identifies the students' interest and comes up with strategies which suit them. On my observation, I also noticed that that the teachers strive to enhance student's understanding by ensuring that they interact with the student through askingquestions and encouraging them to seek clarifications where they have difficulties. The teacher also come up with assessments to text the student understanding and provide feedback through revising the areas students have problems. Other than that, the teachers strive to create a culture which enhances a culture of student-oriented learning. They interact freely, form groups, and come up with goals and leaders who lead groups. Lastly, the teachers are responsible for programming the lessons and following them while teaching. They also consult with fellow teachers on the best ways to get the best out of the students. Also, they maintain effective communication through feedback provision to ensure that the students are on the right track.
