Most of the athletes and more importantly the baseball players have been using the HGH despite the ban of the drug consumption by the MLB. The HGH builds the muscles and strengthens the connective tissues to the athletes hence improving the performance of the athletes. In baseball, it is evident that implementing the ban is the only solution for it has many effects than the presumed benefits. The dangers of these drugs are such that the excessive consumption of these drugs might lead to diabetes; increase the chances to suffer from blood pressure and some other related diseases such as arthritis to the athletes. The ban on the use of HGH was implemented by the MLB in the year 2005 after considering the effects brought about the continuous use of the same drugs. It is true according to Ruthworth that tough choices and ethical dilemmas are desperate to make. What makes them hard to formulate a decision is because there is always a presence of right versus right.

The issues on the continued use of the HGH and other banned substances by MLB falls under unethical practices. These ethical practices and dilemmas can be discussed using be Rushworth Kidder’s right versus right ethical dilemmas (Kidder, 2014). Kidder says that the in any decision that an individual makes, it involves making choices between right and wrong. Moral decisions in most cases revolve around making legal determinations and decisions between; Individual versus community, truth versus loyalty, justice versus mercy, and short-term versus long-term. The decisions of the ban from using HGH substance in baseball falls under these decisions and right ethical dilemmas as presented by Ruthworth kidder. It is evident that consumption of HGH in the name of strengthening the muscles and tissues of the athletes is unethical since there is a ban put in place. The Four fundamental paradigms in place help in analyzing the ethical issues and choices, therefore realizing what has created the conflict.
