The issue surrounding love and relationship has been a debated aspect for the last couple of decades now. Apparently, happiness has often been associated to love in a marriage or friendship something that many people have had varied opinions regarding it. Notably, Elizabeth Gilbert spoke of happiness through her movie talk “happiness/intimacy” in the American public broadcast service channel. Although the movie is short, I have learned a lot of things regarding happiness in relation to love.
Primarily, I have learned an array of things particularly the need to be happy in an intimacy lifestyle. While there is often the need to be close to a person when in a relationship, it reaches a time where one may want to be separated or rather create that distance from another person for the sake of happiness (This Emotional Life | PBS, 2018). Through the short movie, I have learned that one can be happy without compelling oneself to other people especially those that one is in a relationship with. The movie has taught me how to contain myself and create my own sense of humanity. Additionally, I have learned to be close to someone without necessarily depending on others and, therefore, being happy without bothering people. The movie does not insist on isolation but rather not depending on other people (This Emotional Life | PBS, 2018). Apparently, this is an essential thing particularly in a relationship whether intimacy is at play or a friendship kind of a relationship especially in the contemporary society where happiness has often been misunderstood.
